Squad member Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush both defeated primary challengers on Tuesday evening.
Both are now favorited to win their re-election bids in the November midterms.
Rep. Tlaib easily beat out her competition, with 66.5 percent of the vote. She had faced challenges by Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey, who received 18.4 percent of the vote, Lathrup Village Mayor Kelly Garrett, who received 10.2 percent, and former Michigan state Rep. Shanelle Jackson, who received 4.9 percent.
They were competing for the newly drawn 12th district, which includes the western side of Detroit and parts of Wayne County, as well as a portion of Oakland County.

In Congress, Rep. Tlaib serves on the House Oversight Committee and is Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on the Environment. She is also a member of the House Financial Services Committee and the Natural Resources Committee. In 2020 she became a ranking member on the executive board of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Rep. Bush was challenged in Missouri’s 1st congressional district by state Sen. Steve Roberts and walked away with 69.5 percent of the vote.

Roberts had spent much of his campaign blasting Bush for allegedly caring more about publicity than her constituents.
Both Bush and Tlaib, like the other far-left members of the Squad, are outspoken activists for progressive causes — specifically regarding race and gender ideology.
