WATCH: NYC Protestors Gather to Support Women's Rights in Afghanistan

'Not one Muslim country has stepped forward to say anything or help us out' said one protestor

A group of New York City-based Afghan activists gathered near the New York Public Library on Jan. 14 to protest recent bans on women’s rights imposed by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Timcast was on the scene to speak with protestors about how the Taliban wields oppression as a tool to prevent women and girls from receiving education, how the U.S. should respond to the situation in Afghanistan, and the notion that some view the Taliban as liberators.
