Dr. Anthony Fauci weighed in over the weekend on the nation’s ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, saying it’s unlikely that Americans will soon fly on airplanes without covering their faces.
“The CEOS of the top airlines said you’re actually safer on an airplane than you are in an ICU. … They’re suggesting there really isn’t much need for a mask on an airplane. Are we going to get to a point where we won’t have to wear masks on an airplane?” asked a reporter with ABC News.
“I don’t think so,” said Fauci.

Fauci’s comments come hours after outgoing mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio claimed citizens can be compelled to receive the COVID injections if their “paycheck depends on it.”
“Human beings are pretty predictable. If you say, ‘Your paycheck depends on it, or your ability to enjoy life, and go do the things you want to do,’ people will make the practical decision … but we’re not pushing hard enough,” said de Blasio, who leaves office on Jan. 1.
