Former President Donald Trump has issued a statement urging a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump said that it “doesn’t make sense” that the two nations are not sitting down to try and resolve the conflict.
“It doesn’t make sense that Russia and Ukraine aren’t sitting down and working out some kind of an agreement,” Trump wrote.

The former president warned that lack of negotiations will mean increased deaths.
“If they don’t do it soon, there will be nothing left but death, destruction, and carnage,” Trump continued.
Trump added, “this is a war that never should have happened, but it did.”
“The solution can never be as good as it would have been before the shooting started, but there is a solution, and it should be figured out now — not later — when everyone will be DEAD!” Trump concluded.
In an interview with CNN that aired over the weekend, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that “all of the countries of the world” should begin preparing for nuclear war with Russia.
Last week, CIA Director Bill Burns said that the agency is monitoring the possibility of Russia using nukes “very intently,” but emphasized that they have not seen any indication that Russia is legitimately preparing to do so. Zelenskyy was asked about the remarks by Jake Tapper.
“The director of the CIA warned that he’s worried Putin might use a tactical nuclear weapon in this fight. Are you worried?” Tapper asked.
“Not only me, I think all over the world, all the countries have to be worried,” Zelensky responded. “Because, you know that it kind of be not real information, but it can be the truth because when they began to speak about one or another battles or involves enemies, or nuclear weapon, or some chemical, you know, issues, chemical weapons, they should do.”
“They could– I mean, they can. For them, life of the people is nothing,” he added. “That’s why we should think, not be afraid. I mean, that not be afraid, be ready. But that is not the question for to Ukraine, and not only for the Ukraine, for all over the world, I think so.”
For their part, Moscow has claimed that Ukraine is constantly failing to uphold negotiations.
“Contacts continue at an expert level within the framework of the negotiation process,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a conference call with the media on Monday. “Unfortunately the Ukrainian side is not consistent in terms of the points that have been agreed.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that they will cease fire instantly if Kiev meets Russia’s list of demands, including that Ukraine should remain neutral and not apply to join NATO.
