Snip for Shake: Nashville Hot Dog Joint Giving Out Free Milkshakes With Proof of Vasectomy

A hot dog joint in Nashville is giving out free milkshakes to customers who provide proof of having undergone a vasectomy.

Daddy’s Dog’s is calling the promotion a “Snip for Shake” deal.

The owner of the restaurant, Sean “Big Daddy” Porter, told Newsweek that about 25 men have taken him up on the free shake offer so far.

“We thought this would be a fun and unique way to get the word out about vasectomies for men,” Porter said. “It’s a way to put the ball in the guy’s court, and will hopefully also help break the stigma that comes along with men’s health.”

Tennessee had an abortion trigger law that went into effect after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. As of June 28, the procedure is banned after six weeks of pregnancies — which critics argue is before most women know that they are with child.

Porter announced the deal in a TikTok video.

“The world’s a pretty crazy place right now, but I have a way to make it just a little bit better,” Porter says in the video. “It’s our Snip for Shake deal. We’re giving away one free milkshake with proof of vasectomy. Just bring a note from your doctor saying you got the snip and we’ll give you any milkshake you want.”

In the video, a man can be seen using the milkshake to ice his genital region.

“There’s nothing like an ice-cold milkshake after a vasectomy,” Porter asserts.

At the end of the video, Porter directed followers to visit Urology Nashville to book an appointment.

Porter himself says that he has undergone the procedure after deciding he did not want to have children.

“We’ve probably had 25 or so redemptions at this point,” Porter told Newsweek. “With a few folks coming by straight from their doctors.”

Last month, local Tennessee station News Channel 5 reported that there has been a trend of younger men in the state seeking the procedure since the abortion restrictions went into place.
