4.5 Million Americans Quit Their Jobs in November, 10 Million Vacant Positions in the USA

A record-setting 4.5 million Americans quit their jobs in November alone, raising new questions over the country’s economic recovery amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

There are now 10 million vacant jobs in the United States.

“The Labor Department also reported Tuesday that employers posted 10.6 million job openings in November, down from 11.1 million in October but still high by historical standards. Employers hired 6.7 million people in November, up from 6.5 million in October, the Labor Department reported Tuesday in its monthly Jobs Openings and Labor Turnover Survey,” reports The Hill.

The data comes as the US reported more than one million new cases of COVID on January 3rd, a global record since the pandemic began in late 2019.

To date, 69 million Americans have received at least one booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 206 million are “fully vaccinated” according to figures from the CDC.

Doctor Anthony Fauci now urging officials to cease using the term “fully vaccinated” instead opting for “up-to-date” as more injections are needed to boost immunity against COVID-19 and new variants of the disease.
