Training materials from Iowa’s Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency showing them referring to the phrase "Make America Great Again" as "covert white supremacy" have been leaked.

The document was obtained and posted online by Turning Point USA's Benny Johnson. One chart shows "Examples of Racism Across Levels" also deems Columbus Day, colorblindness, being a "self-appointed white ally" and the denial of white privilege as examples of covert white supremacy of various degrees. "This is done through MANDATORY Critical Race Theory training FORCED on teachers at taxpayer expense. Trump won Iowa by +9 points," Johnson wrote in his tweet with the screenshot of the chart. https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1407397263949901825?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1407397263949901825%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthefederalist.com%2F2021%2F06%2F22%2Fleaked-teacher-training-documents-show-iowa-government-schools-classify-make-america-great-again-as-white-supremacy%2F The Federalist reports that the same graphic had previously been used in a government-funded “anti-racist” training led by Dena Simmons and organized by the Valburn Consulting Group on behalf of the Naperville 203 Community Unit. Johnson added that "teachers of Iowa are being INSTRUCTED to classify the vast majority of Iowan children as Racist & White Supremacist," along with a graphic showing Trump won nearly every county in the state in 2020. https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1407397275282903040 https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1407397288566198276 "At the time of this racist training House file 802 was working its way through the Iowa legislature. This bill explicitly banned this style of derogatory, offensive training in 'mandatory diversity training for state and local government employees.' This Bill is now Iowa LAW," Johnson added.
