YouTube is censoring an interview with investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, who recently published a bombshell exposé revealing that U.S. President Joe Biden ordered the destruction of Russia’s Nord Stream pipelines last year.
The video featuring a sit-down interview with Hersh and left-wing media group Democracy Now! has been hidden behind an age-restriction filter, which means the interview may only be watched by users over 18 who are logged into their account, severely constraining the video’s reach.
According to YouTube’s community guidelines, age-restricted content is only reserved for spam and deceptive practices, sensitive content (ie: child safety, nudity, suicide), violent or dangerous content, regulated goods (ie: firearms), and misinformation (ie: election-related, COVID-19).
When a user who is signed in links to the video, they are greeted with a warning, stating, “This video may be inappropriate for some users.”
After clicking the link to proceed, users are then greeted with a second alert, “The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences.”
Early in the Democracy Now! report is a clip of Biden addressing reporters prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, threatening the “end” of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia were to proceed with an invasion.
“There will no longer be a Nord Stream 2, we will bring an end to it,” Biden remarked.
A reporter asked a follow-up question: “But how will you do that exactly since the project and control of the project is within Germany’s control?”
Biden stated, “We will, I promise you we’ll be able to do it,” a statement many suspect was a veiled threat to destroy the pipeline.
During the 27-minute interview, Hersh expanded upon his written report detailing how the Biden administration set up a committee that met in a Secret office across from the White House, which decided to proceed with a classified operation to destroy Russia’s Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline.
Hersh echoed the sentiment of social media users who have questioned why the story is receiving no attention from corporate media outlets and why there seems to be no interest from congress in investigating the matter.
U.S. officials have consistently pushed back against the report, criticizing it as “fiction,” effectively dismissing Biden’s hint that the U.S. would sabotage the pipeline and the State Department Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland’s vow that “If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.”
Russia has stated there will be consequences for the pipeline’s destruction and recently called on the U.S. to prove it is not responsible for the pipeline explosion.
Social media users reacted to the apparent censorship of Hersh’s interview and legacy media’s blackout of the story:
I did a brief search on CTV,CBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, news pages for “Seymour Hersh” and “Nordstream.”
Any references were from some time ago.
Nothing on Hersh’s recent article on Nordstream.Man, when we censor, we do a good job.

Why censor Seymour Hersh's conclusion that the U.S. blew up the North Sea pipelines? Hear what Helga Zepp-LaRouche and Hersh are saying about that!https://t.co/vqw0n7QkLD#NordstreamSabotage #ukraine #Russia #Germany #NATO pic.twitter.com/C1J42Qqz0H
