Georgia State representative Mesha Mainor, who announced her departure from the Democratic party last week, revealed a series of aggressive and racially charged messages from critics.
Last Tuesday, Mainor revealed she would leave the Democratic party for the Republican party, saying her decision wasn’t political but moral.
“I will NEVER apologize for being a black woman with a mind of my own,” she wrote.
Mainor shared screenshots of email submissions following her announcement in a series of Twitter posts.
“I would like to help your retarded black a– by telling you that saying you would support any candidate picked by the GOP during the primary is retarded,” wrote Mainer. “Not only is retarded you live up to the word n—er by just following blindly.”
“Remember you were a Democrat and ‘felt abandoned’ to become Republican, and now you’re going to follow blindly like you did with your party. You’re the stain on society that needs to be flushed. I wish you the absolute worst in your political history. You Uncle Tom b—-.”
“Dear Democrat, Sorry you feel this way,” Mainor replied.

One user by the name of “killyourselfagain” sent an email to Mainor saying one of their priorities for reaching out to her was “this b—- killing herself.”
The email further prompted written submissions to detail how they would like to help, to which the user wrote, “convincing conservatives and their dips— children to commit suicide is the greatest service one can offer to humanity.”
“I’m sorry you feel this way,” the Georgia representative responded. “Support for anyone with thoughts of self-harm can be accessed by calling #988.”

Another email referred to Mainor as a “dumba– aunt Jemima mother f—ing traitor!”
“I will be sure to take a good chunk of my retirement savings, which is substantial, and will donate it to whoever it is that will be running against you, you self-hating black negress b—-!”
“You’ll see come 2024 how I will help to make sure you are defeated! Go run in a Republican confederate district that loves self-hating n—ers like you!”
Dear Democrat,
Sorry you feel that way. And thank you to the HUNDREDS sending well wishes. pic.twitter.com/Vvnkih0HJu— Rep. Mesha Mainor (@MeshaMainor) July 16, 2023
One user named Max Nordau expressed concern that Mainor was a “MAGA slave” bowing her head to her “master Donald Trump.”
“It’s very shameful what you hippo monkeys will do once you get money, you spend it all on drugs, chicken, and Maseratis. You’re a welfare queen, and I’m sick of darks like you gaming this system.”
Nordau continued adding he wanted to place Mainor in a reeducation camp to “de-n—erfy” her.”

Another user by the name Ryan Cook invoked several epithets, including referring to the Georgia state representative as a “coon” and “monkey b—-.”
“You wanna be [a] party traitor and go under Brian Kemp’s whip because he offered you more yams and collards?”
“You are despicable and poplar might serve you well,” the user continued.
Dear Democrat,
I’m sorry you feel this way. I pray everyone has a great Sunday! It’s another day the Lord has made. pic.twitter.com/dsy9l9OYnP— Rep. Mesha Mainor (@MeshaMainor) July 16, 2023
“I didn’t leave the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party left ME when it embraced left-wing radicalism, lawlessness, and put the interests of illegal aliens over the interest of Americans,” Mainor wrote on Tuesday addressing her decision to leave the Democratic party. “I have nothing to apologize for.”

“I’ll serve under the gold dome in Jan 2024 with the same values & constituent priorities from the past 3yrs,” she wrote in another tweet. “An ‘R’ next to my name doesn’t change who I am.”
She added: “Priorities: education, public safety, jobs, healthcare, and senior resources.”

Mainor has represented District 56, which covers a heavy Democrat voter base near Atlanta, since January 2021. Mainor ran unopposed by a Republican challenger in the state’s 2020 and 2022 Democratic Primary elections.
The Georgia State representative’s party switch shifts the Republican-Democrat balance in the Georgia State House 102-78.
