WATCH: Trump Booed By Supporters While Introducing Lindsey Graham at South Carolina Rally

“He helps me on the left. We need help sometimes. Republicans shouldn’t need help on the left, but he helps me.”

Former President Donald Trump was brutally booed by his supporters while introducing his “friend” Senator Lindsey Graham at a South Carolina rally on Monday.

The Republican presidential frontrunner introduced the senator as someone who helps him “on the left.”

“Another man who’s always there, he’s always — I’ll tell you what. When I need help on the left, he’s great. He’s great, and he’s my friend, too. Lindsey Graham, wherever you are. Lindsey?” Trump began, prompting the overwhelming chorus of boos.

Trump scolded the crowd for booing, asserting that sometimes he does need help on the left.

“Oh no, no!” Trump told the crowd. “He helps me on the left. We need help sometimes. Republicans shouldn’t need help on the left, but he helps me.”

Graham has often drawn scorn from Trump’s base for his neoconservative positions and flip flopping on support for the former president.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign was quick to pounce on the moment.

“Trump tells South Carolinians to stop booing Lindsey Graham — who he inaccurately describes as ‘great’ — and explains that Graham helps him appease Democrats,” DeSantis campaign’s rapid response account posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “This is not the Donald Trump from 2016.”

This is not the first time that Trump has been met with boos when discussing Graham.

In July, Trump made similar comments and was met with a similar response during another rally in the state.

“You know, you can make mistakes on occasion. Even Lindsey down here, Senator Lindsey Graham. We love Senator Graham,” Trump said at a rally in Pickens.

“I know, it’s half-and-half,” he continued over the booing crowd. “But when I need some of those liberal votes, he’s always there to help me get them, okay. We got some pretty liberal people, but he’s good.”
