Trump to Hold Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Anniversary of Capitol Protest

Former President Donald Trump has announced that he will be holding a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on January 6, the one year anniversary of the Capitol protest.

In the statement announcing the event, Trump branded the House Select Committee investigating the protest the “Unselect Committee of highly partisan political hacks.”

Trump questioned why the committee is investigating the protest, instead of “the rigged Presidential Election of 2020.”

“Does anybody notice that they want to stay as far away from the topic as possible, the numbers don’t work for them, or even come close,” Trump said. “The only thing they can do is not talk about it”.

Trump’s press secretary, Liz Harrington, shared the announcement on Twitter.

The former president also took aim at RINOs, which stands for “Republicans in Name Only.” He was presumably referring to members of the GOP that are on the committee, including Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger.

“In many ways a RINO is worse than a Radical Left Democrat,” Trump wrote, “because you don’t know where they are coming from and you have no idea how bad they really are for our Country.”

“The good news is there are fewer and fewer RINOs left as we elect strong Patriots who love America,” the statement continued.

“I will be having a news conference on January 6th at Mar-a-Lago to discuss all of these points, and more,” the statement concluded. “Until then, remember, the insurrection took place on November 3rd, it was the completely unarmed protest of the rigged election that took place on January 6th.”
