Supermodel Gigi Hadid Vows to Donate Her Fall Fashion Show Earnings to People in Both Ukraine and Palestine

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has vowed to donate her earnings from the Fall fashion season to “those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

Hadid is half Palestinian on her father’s side and has been outspoken about her views on the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

“Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something,” Hadid wrote.

Hadid credited fellow model Mica Argañaraz as her inspiration, as she also pledged to donate her fashion week earnings to help Ukraine.

“Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

“Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE,” she added, with a dove emoji at the conclusion.

Hadid has been one of the highest-paid models in the world for several years. She has had contracts with major companies including Maybelline, Evian, BMW, Versace, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Gigi’s sister Bella Hadid is also a top supermodel and outspoken critic of Israel.

In May 2021, the official Twitter account for the state of Israel posted an image of Bella at a pro-Palestine march and accused her of advocating “throwing Jews into the sea.”

The video the screenshot was taken from did not appear to show the model calling for harm to Jewish people.
