Soros Foundation Fears Trump Will Win, Thwart Plans For Globalism

Alex Soros is preparing for possible 'MAGA-style Republican victory in next year’s U.S. presidential election'

Billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundation (OSF) has begun preparations for a scenario where former President Donald Trump returns to the White House after winning the 2024 presidential election.

On behalf of the organization, Soros’s son Alex, who recently took the reins of his father’s $25 billion empire, said that OSF will shift in preparation for what he believes will be negative consequences with Trump’s re-election.

“As someone who spends up to half their time working on the Continent and thinks former United States President Donald Trump — or at least someone with his isolationist and anti-European policies — will be the Republican nominee, I believe a MAGA-style Republican victory in next year’s U.S. presidential election could, in the end, be worse for the EU than for the U.S.,” Soros said in a recent op-ed that ran at the left-wing publication POLITICO.

He continued:

Such an outcome will imperil European unity and undermine the progress achieved on many fronts in response to the war in Ukraine.

We are adapting OSF to be able to respond to whatever scenarios might emerge, on both sides of the Atlantic.

Like my father, I regard the EU as one of modern history’s great triumphs. It brought together countries that almost destroyed civilization to forge a common destiny, and it helped breakaway former Soviet republics and satellites move toward democracy. But there remains more work to be done.

And it is my great hope that OSF, in its reconfigured form, will be able to help the European project realize its full promise.

The op-ed came the same day OSF, through an internal letter, confirmed the organization would be adapting its European strategy to “move forward, as we free resources and personnel to anticipate emerging threats from authoritarians across the region, and indeed, around the world.”

OSF has previously funded efforts to subvert Trump.

After a source provided unredacted financial disclosure forms, it was reported that OSF provided $1,750,000 to the anti-Trump resistance organization Center for Community Change.

Other reporting shows that OSF donated $3,679,800 to Democrats.

As stated in an article published by the Associated Press (AP), OSF has spent “millions to finance a huge grievance and anarchy industry that pretends to be grass-roots justice protests.”
