South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has tested positive for the coronavirus, despite being fully vaccinated.
Sen. Graham announced his breakthrough infection on Monday and said that he will be quarantining for ten days.
“I was just informed by the House physician I have tested positive for COVID-19 even after being vaccinated,” he said in a statement. “I started having flu-like symptoms Saturday night and went to the doctor this morning. I feel like I have a sinus infection and at present time I have mild symptoms. I will be quarantining for ten days.”

I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now.
My symptoms would be far worse.

On Twitter, Sen. Graham added “I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be far worse.”
In the replies, many people thanked him for encouraging vaccination — while others attacked him for not wearing masks.
Sen. Graham was briefly at the Capitol on Monday.
A White House staffer and a senior communications aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also recently tested positive for Covid-19, despite being fully vaccinated as well.
