NYC Mayor Joins List of Public Officials Warning of U.S. Terrorist Attacks

FBI says currently there is no information indicating a specific threat to the homeland

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now among a list of public officials issuing warnings about the potential for a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

Adams advised New Yorkers not to underestimate the potential for “lone wolf” attacks in the wake of a devastating assault recently carried out against Israel by militant Islamic group Hamas, which has been designated as a terrorist organization by numerous countries.

“This is really an opportunity, we have to be high alert. We have to be on high alert, we cannot let our guards down,” Adams cautioned during an Oct. 10 press conference, as he reminded New Yorkers that the city has the largest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel.

“Lone wolves are real,” the mayor added.

Adams’ warning came just a day after multiple national-level officials issued similar advisories about the potential for violence perpetrated by Hamas sympathizers who want to murder Americans for supporting Israel.

As Timcast reported, former U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said that America is one of many countries that should “look at their own intelligence now” to conduct threat assessments following the deadly attack in Israel over the weekend that resulted in thousands dead, injured, and held hostage.

“We should take a step back and look at ourselves,” McCarthy said. “Your intel is never perfect and we’ve got a wide-open border. They’re coming from 160 different countries,” including those known to harbor militant operatives with ties to global terror organizations.

Concerns have been heightened in the U.S. as new data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) shows that more than 150 individuals on the terrorism watchlist, along with more than 71,000 “special interest aliens” from mostly Middle Eastern countries, have illegally entered the U.S. in the last two years alone.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) said “we are not prepared” and asked, “How many Hamas sleeper cells have crossed our southern border under the Biden Administration’s policies?”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) asked, “Since the Biden admin’s open border policies has allowed our country to be invaded by millions of unknown people from over 160 countries, including terrorists, will the Biden FBI keep targeting Jan 6, 2021 protestors or will they question any of the Pro-Hamas protesters and their connections since they were out using their free speech against Israel today?”

The FBI issued a statement saying the agency has no “specific and credible intelligence indicating a threat to the United States stemming from the Hamas attacks in Israel” and says it will be “closely coordinating” with domestic and international partners.
