Former South Carolina Governor Nimrata Nikki Haley released a video announcing her 2024 Presidential campaign on Tuesday.
Haley, who has been largely speculated to announce a bid for President, introduced her campaign detailing her family’s Indian heritage.
“I was different,” Haley said. “But my mom would always say ‘your job is not to focus on the differences, but the similarities.'”
The former South Carolina Governor said her family was blessed to live in America.
“Get excited! Time for a new generation,” Haley wrote. “Let’s do this!”

“Some look at our past as evidence that America’s founding principles are bad,” she continued as news snippets featuring the New York Times‘ “1619 Project” developed by Nikole-Hannah-Jones, along with the image of a protestor holding a sign reading “racism is a pandemic” followed by a burning American flag.
“They say the promise of freedom is just made up,” the former Governor continued as the video displays a clip of New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez speaking during Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign. “Some think our ideas are not just wrong, but racist and evil.”
“Nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve seen evil,” Haley said as images of Uyghur Muslims in China are featured. “In China they commit genocide.”
“In Iran they murder their own people for challenging the government, and when a woman tells you about watching soldiers throw her baby into a fire, it puts things in perspective,” she continued, saying “even on our worst day” Americans are blessed.
Haley transitioned to her experience as South Carolina’s first female Governor, noting she was previously referred to as the “beast of the southeast” by Industry Today.
“Republicans have lost the popular vote in seven out of the last eight Presidential Elections,” she said. “That has to change. … The Washington establishment has failed us over and over.”
“It’s time for a new generation of leadership to rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure our border, and strengthen our country, our pride, and purpose” Haley said, noting that critics of America see the country’s vulnerability while the “socialist left” sees “an opportunity to rewrite history.”
“China and Russia are on the march. They all think we can be bullied; kicked around,” she concluded. “You should know this about me: I don’t put up with bullies. And when you kick back, it hurts them more if you’re wearing heels.”
The former South Carolina Governor will face off against former President Donald Trump, who announced his third bid for President late last year in the Republican primary. Other speculated candidates include former National Security Advisor John Bolton and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo — who both served in the Trump administration.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, along with former California Gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder and former Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson, are also speculated to announce a 2024 Presidential run.
