Nike To Host Panel With Surgeon Who Performed Gender Reassignment Surgery On Minors

Dr. Blair Peters Has Previously Admitted To Performing Mastectomies On Adolescent Females

Sports brand Nike is hosting a panel discussion with a gender reassignment surgeon who has performed surgeries on minors in celebration of Pride month.

The panel is hosted by NikeUNITED Pride Network and celebrates the “past, present, and future” of the global LGBTQIA+ community.

“We’re thrilled to have a phenomenal line-up of events and activities this June and July that will leave you inspired, invigorated, and immensely passionate about cultivating a better world for all athletes,” reads the leaked email obtained by conservative media outlet The Daily Wire.

Nike’s 2023 Pride celebration theme is titled “Together We Are Undeniable”

“The LGBTQIA+ community continues to fight for equality — their fight to be themselves,” the email continues. “Together We Are Undeniable centers around determination, celebrating icons of the community, and the progress we have and will continue to make in light of recent attacks and restrictions on the community and their allies.”

During June, Nike will host “PRIDE FITNESS,” “Pride Thirst Thursday,” and “Climb With PRIDE!”

Dr. Blair Peters of Oregon Health and Science University’s (OHSU) Trans Health Program, will discuss policies impacting the transgender community during the panel in July.

Peters has previously admitted to performing mastectomies, also referred to as “top surgery,” on three adolescent females.

“All had supportive parents present,” the surgeon said in a now-deleted tweet from 2022.

“You could see the family relief the second we wheeled back to the OR,” he continued. “I could sense the shift.”

Nike will also host a “family-friendly” Drag Story Time in July, along with a Pride parade.

In conjunction with Nike Kids Design, the sports brand will also reveal a “gender-inclusive” children’s apparel line titled, “Kids One Fit.”

Pride-themed pop-ups are scheduled at several Nike headquarters.

Nike has also reportedly promised to pledge $600,000 to several LGBT groups, including GLSEN, along with donating to LGBT youth camp, Camp Lightbulb, for children as young as 14.

The sports brand will also donate funds to Center on Halsted, Erise Williams and Associates, Hetrick Martin Institute, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

Between June 1 and July 16, Nike will match donations twice over to the ACLU, Affinity Community Services, Common Goal USE, New Avenues for Youth, Rainbow Labs Mentoring, Services & Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, & Transgender Elders, and Stonewall Sports.

The email is signed by the president of consumer and marketplace, Heidi O’Neil, who is also the executive sponsor of the “PRIDE Network.”

Nike’s PRIDE Network is an affinity group which “welcomes all employees diverse in sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. We stand for visibility and inclusion of individual identity and expression.”
