“Booming” was trending on Twitter Wednesday afternoon as people roasted MSNBC for tweeting that “President Biden’s approval rating has fallen to lowest level of his presidency despite booming economy.”
The tweet linked to a clip from the Mehdi Hasan Show that asserted the US economy is growing at the fastest rate since 1987.

Hasan was discussing a new national NBC News poll, which found that Biden’s overall job approval rating had plummeted to 40 percent, the lowest point since he took office.
“What this poll says is that President Biden and Democrats are headed for a catastrophic election,” pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinions Strategy, one of the groups who conducted the survey, told NBC News.
The poll found that 71 percent of Americans said they believe the nation is headed on the wrong track.
“Sixty-two percent of respondents said their family incomes are falling behind the cost of living, 31 percent said they’re staying even, and 6 percent said their incomes are going up faster than the cost of living,” NBC reported.
Rapid inflation and supply chain shortages are forcing American to pay more for everything from rent to gas to food — and Twitter users were quick to point that out to the “tone deaf” network.
If by “booming economy” you mean economic disaster.
Yes, it’s booming.

“Booming like a plane crash or train derailing,” one user responded.

For those struggling to get by in an inflationary economy, this is an incredibly tone-deaf take.
