Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ reference to her arrival in the city on Tuesday.
Greene previously announced she would be in New York on Tuesday for former president Donald Trump’s arraignment.
The Georgia representative said Mayor Adams and New York County district attorney Alvin Bragg “should be ashamed of themselves” following Adams’ apparent suggestion that Trump supporters may engage in violence.
“On my way to my hotel in NYC, I’ve seen many people so drugged up they can’t even stand up,” Greene wrote in a Monday tweet. “They just fall over on the sidewalks from using drugs at Mayor Adams free drug use centers.”
“But all these Communist Democrats care about is arresting President Trump for their made up fake crimes.”

During a Monday press conference in which Adams told Trump supporters to “control yourselves,” the Mayor also referenced Greene’s prior announcement that she would visit the city during Trump’s Tuesday arraignment.
“Although we have no specific threats, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, stated she’s coming to town,” Adams said. “While you’re in town, be on your best behavior.”
“As always, we will not allow violence or vandalism of any kind,” he continued. “And if one is caught participating in any act of violence they will be arrested and held accountable.”
Upon Greene’s Tuesday arrival in the city, the Georgia representative reported an “emergency noise demo” counter protest had been planned.
“I’m here in NY to protest with my voice against the weaponization of the justice system on innocent President Trump, but the counter protestors are coming to commit assault that can cause audible damage to everyone’s ears including NYPD,” Greene said, noting the “noise demo” could be committing assault and cause damage to one’s hearing. “But Mayor Adams warns me by name!”

Greene followed up her post by providing New York’s Penal Law definition of disorderly conduct.
“A person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof,” reads the definition.
The definition of disorderly conduct further describes the offense as someone who engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior or makes unreasonable noise. The offense also takes place in a public place in which abusive or obscene language or gestures are made. Without lawful authority, an offender also may disturb lawful assembly or meeting of persons along with obstructing vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
Offenders also includes those who congregate with other persons in a public place and refuse to comply with a lawful order to disperse given my police, or by creating a hazardous or physically offensive condition by any act which serves no legitimate purpose.
“According to NY law, the counter protesters planned, organized, and funded behavior is considered disorderly conduct,” Greene wrote. “[Mayor Adams] better direct NYPD to lock these people up. He said he wasn’t tolerating violence of any kind.”
