Ethan Klein made a Holocaust “joke” about the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro during a Monday episode of the H3 Podcast.
Towards the end of the episode, Klein and producer Daniel Swerdlove discuss rapper Kanye West and the Daily Wire’s Candace Owens wearing “white lives matter” shirts at Paris Fashion Week. The two continue suggesting West is being influenced by Owens, who released a new documentary The Greatest Lie Ever Sold on the media outlet’s streaming service DailyWire+.
A video of West discussing his “death con 3 on Jewish people” comment is played as the two poke fun at the rapper by comparing his brain to “applesauce.” Klein continues suggesting Owens was influencing West’s comment, noting her employment with the Daily Wire, which was co-founded by Ben Shapiro — a pundit who openly discusses his Jewish heritage and religious views.
Klein looks off camera in thought saying, “If there—” before stopping himself. The H3 host puts his hand over his face before continuing: “Got another f—ed up joke I wanted to say.”
“Easy tiger,” Swerdlove cautions the host.
Klein recites his thought, but is interrupted by a “Technical Difficulties” banner appearing on screen.
The stream cuts back to Klein who continues, “I just say if they start rounding up the Jews again I hope Ben gets gassed first,” appearing to reference the Daily Wire co-founder.

“I’m getting gassed too, Dan,” Klein said, noting his own Jewish heritage in an attempt to diffuse his comment about Shapiro, who had previously criticized West’s comments as anti-semitic.
Klein made similarly controversial comments in a May episode of the H3 podcast following the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
“Saw there was a big protest outside the NRA meeting which was good,” Klein said during the broadcast. “Do we have any insight into what they’re actually talking about there at the NRA meeting that’s today in Texas? Someone should bomb that building.”
The video was removed as Klein’s show faced a week-long suspension from the platform. The H3 host addressed his comments in a follow up video after his suspension on Jun. 6. Klein said he understood why YouTube suspended the show and mentioned he thought the punishment would have been worse.
Klein previously went after Shapiro in a June tweet, saying, “Ben Shapiro is a hateful little b—-.”

Klein’s comment was in reference to Shapiro’s defense of fellow Daily Wire host Matt Walsh’s criticism of a Fox News report detailing the journey of a teenage girl identifying as a boy.
“I have appeared on Fox News many times. I appreciate the platform they’ve given me,” said Walsh regarding the outlet’s report. “If what I’m about to say ruins that relationship, so be it. We have to call this evil lunacy out wherever we see it. Especially on our own side.”
It is unclear if YouTube representatives have contacted Klein about his Monday comments on Shapiro or if the channel will face another suspension. The episode is still available for streaming as of Thursday afternoon.
