Hillary Clinton Blames MAGA Republicans For Summer Weather

A number of social media users blasted the former Secretary of State for her comments

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is blaming Republicans for the weather being hot during mid-summer.

In a much-criticized post on the social media app X (formerly called Twitter), Clinton said, “Hot enough for you? Thank a MAGA republican. Or better yet, vote them out of office.”

Clinton’s post was linked to a separate post featuring multiple recent headlines of news stories about a hot summer, stoking fears about climate change and attempting to fault Republicans for July temperatures.

The post came just a week after the New York Times ran a piece arguing that Democrats should “absolutely politicize the weather,” despite admitting further into the article that no one can prove climate change has caused any particular extreme weather event.

Though some Democrats perpetuate the narrative that man-made climate change is causing catastrophic events, not all climate scientists stand in agreement.

Ryan Maue, a former climate scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), responded by stating that heat waves are not a new phenomenon.

“Without climate change, July’s summer heat in the U.S. Southwest would have been ‘virtually impossible.’ I guess that’s true if you memory hole 1925, 1930s, 1950s, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2012, 2020, etc. and the rest of the almanac,” he wrote in a post on X.

“The Dust Bowl of the 1930s and 1980 stand out as so exceptionally hot, many decades ago, that no one would say without laughing that the recent July in Texas was unprecedented,” Maue added. “I guess politicizing the weather means we have to suspend disbelief and erase the past.”

Maue was not alone in offering criticism of Clinton’s post.

“They are now directly blaming ‘MAGA Republicans’ for the temperature outside,” wrote author and commentator Matt Walsh. “The Democrat Party has fallen fully into a state of primitive superstition. They have all the scientific credibility of an Aztec priest in the year 1450.”

Radio show host Dana Loesch responded, “MAGA Republicans are powerful enough to control the seasons apparently, and without them we’d have no summer.”
