The Secret Service has arrested an Illinois woman for threatening to shoot former President Donald Trump and his teenage son Barron.
Tracy Marie Fiorenza, 41, was arrested on Monday morning for the threats, which she emailed to the headmaster of Barron’s Florida school in May and June.
“I will state that I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity I get!” Fiorenza allegedly wrote in an email on May 21, according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times.
In an email on June 5, Fiorenza wrote, “I am going to slam a bullet in Baron (sic) Trump’s head with his father IN SELF DEFENSE!”
The report states that social media pages that appear to be linked to Fiorenza “contain many references to the Illuminati, a secret society, and images of Donald Trump with a noose around his neck.”
Fiorenza’s Facebook page states that she is a former social studies teacher at Chicago Public Schools. CPS confirmed to CBS News that she was a district employee from Sept. 22, 2019, until she was fired on Aug. 30, 2020 — but would not confirm her position.
The Secret Service contacted Fiorenza in June after the second email was sent and arranged for her to go to the Chicago field office for a meeting with agents on the 14th.
During the meeting, Fiorenza confessed to having sent the emails.
The woman has been charged with transmitting threats to kill or injure another person in interstate commerce, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Fiorenza wore blue athletic shorts and a shirt with a skull for her first court appearance. She remains in the custody of US Marshals until she can be sent to Florida for a criminal trial.
