Representative Cory Mills Joins Other Florida Lawmakers with Trump Endorsement

Don Jr: ‘Proud To Have This Amazing Group Of [MAGA] Rockstars Supporting President Trump'

Florida representative Cory Mills endorsed former president Donald Trump for president in 2024.

Mills, a first-term congressman and Army veteran who deployed to Iraq, endorsed Trump for re-election in a statement to Time magazine.

“I think that what’s happening in New York is a very unifying event,” Mills wrote. “We need to stop the infighting and come together and unify.”

“I think right now the person that we need to be unifying behind is President Trump.”

Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. said he was “proud” to have Mills, along with fellow Florida representatives Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, and Anna Paulina Luna, endorse the former president.

“Proud to have this amazing group of #MAGA rockstars supporting President Trump in Florida.”

Luna commented on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is widely speculated to declare his intent to run for president.

“To be clear, I love them both. He’s my governor, and I’m going to support him every step of the way as governor,” Luna said of DeSantis and Trump, telling Time she endorsed the former president because she believes the indictment reveals that Democrats see him as a threat. “I think we need someone who will be aggressive on foreign policy—and that’s Trump.”

“You know, this is politics, you’ve got to pick your sides. I think that he’s the person that we need right now for this country,” Luna continued. “I do think that DeSantis, if he waits, has a really bright future. But I think right now, with what we need for the country, I think it’s Trump.”

Mills also commented on a potential DeSantis presidency though noted the Florida governor should wait. “America needs 12 years of leadership—not four and not eight.”

Last Thursday, Donalds endorsed the former president, saying there “is only one leader at this time in our nation’s history who can seize the moment and deliver what we need — to get us back on track, provide strength and resolve, and Make America Great Again,” per Fox News. “I’m honored to endorse President Donald J. Trump for President in 2024, and I ask my fellow Americans to join me.”

Gaetz endorsed Trump during the former president’s late-March campaign stop in Waco, Texas.

“Only Donald Trump could have rescued us from Hillary Clinton. Without Trump doing three rallies in the final week in the 2018 election in Florida, my governor today would probably be Andrew Gillum,” Gaetz said noting DeSantis’ close 2018 gubernatorial race against his Democratic challenger. “How weird is that? And without Trump dragging Ted Cruz across the finish line, your senator would probably be beta-Beto.”

The Florida representative encouraged fellow lawmakers and conservatives to throw support behind Trump.

“MAGA movement delivered for you in your time of need,” Gaetz continued. “Today, Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz should endorse Donald Trump for president and stand with us as we were so proud to stand with them.”
