Dr. Anthony Fauci threw more cold-water no Americans hoping to return to normalcy as the pandemic quietly recedes, telling MSNBC that unvaccinated children over the age of two “should be wearing masks.”
“Children under the age of 12 who are not eligible for the vaccination generally do not get sick. But does this spread of the Delta variant mean for them?” asked MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.
“Children should follow the guidelines of the CDC… Unvaccinated children of a certain age, greater than two years old, should be wearing masks, no doubt about that,” said Fauci. “That’s the way to protect them from getting infected. If they do, then they could spread it to someone else!”
“The guidelines are not changed at all. We are currently doing age de-escalation studies,” concluded the country’s top COVID doctor.
