BREAKING: Tucker Carlson Out At Fox News Effective Immediately

The Outlet And Carlson Have 'Agreed To Part Ways'

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has parted ways with the media outlet, according to a Monday statement.

The Fox News personality’s departure is effective immediately. Carlson’s final broadcast with Fox News was Friday Apr. 21.

Fox News Tonight will premiere in place of Carlson’s time slot tonight at 8 p.m. EST. The new show will feature a rotating host of Fox News personalities until a permanent host is named.

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” reads Fox News’ statement revealing Carlson’s departure.

Carlson’s departure follows Fox News’ $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems who claimed the media outlet spread incendiary claims about their voting machines and role in the 2020 presidential election.

Tucker Carlson Tonight premiered in November 2016 and assumed the 9 p.m. EST time slot following Megyn Kelly’s departure from Fox News in 2017.

In 2000, Carlson co-hosted The Spin Room on CNN and was later appointed to co-host Crossfire. After a short stint with Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Carlson joined MSNBC between 2005 and 2008. The former Fox News host subsequently joined the outlet as a contributor in 2009 and served until his Monday departure.

This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
