Biden’s Department of Justice has recommended zero jail time for a transgender activist that vandalized a church and assaulted a worker.
Maeve Nota, 31, is a biological male that self-identifies as a woman.
Nota vandalized the St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington, in broad daylight with messages including “F-ck Catholics,” “woman haters,” “religion of hate,” “rot in your fake hell,” “kid groomers.” The left-wing activist also shattered the doors to the building, destroyed a statue of the Virgin Mary, and spray-painted the face of a church employee before throwing a rock at him.
Nota was captured on a surveillance camera committing the multiple crimes.

After attempting to flee the scene, police caught Nota, who began smashing the police cruiser with a backpack full of spray paint cans. The perpetrator also appeared to be intoxicated, according to the responding officers.
The incident occurred a month after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and vandals and arsonists nationwide began targeting churches and pro-life pregnancy centers.
According to a report from Fox 13 at the time, Bellevue Police Captain Darryl McKinney that “the damage would fall under a hate crime statute.” He also estimated that Nota had caused over $100,000 in damage to the church.
“Obviously, there’s a lot going on in the world,” said McKinney. “People are worked up about things. They’re upset – or, at least some people are – I think there are some emotions stirred up and we’re seeing people act how they normally wouldn’t.”
However, The Blaze reports that originally the DOJ “charged Nota with the destruction of religious property, a misdemeanor that could result in a year in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.”
Instead, the Department of Justice offered a plea agreement involving three years of probation and no jail time. Nota will be sentenced in June.
Fox News noted, “Nota sharply contrasts with the Biden administration’s earlier approach of throwing the book at pro-life protesters outside abortion clinics.”
“It is very clear that the Biden Justice Department has politicized and weaponized the FACE Act to go after pro-life Christians praying outside of abortion clinics like Mark Houck while turning a blind eye to violent felons terrorizing and badly damaging Catholic churches like Maeve Nota,” Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, told the network.
