Biden's Approval Rating Drops to New Low According to Latest Polls

A new poll shows that only 33% of American adults approve of the President's handling of COVID and the economy.

President Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 33% in a new Quinnipiac University poll.

This is the lowest mark of any public survey during his presidency. The critical elements of disapproval are his handling of the economy and coronavirus.

The Poll, conducted Jan. 7 though Jan. 10 was released on Wednesday. The new Poll found 33% of all 1,313 adults surveyed approve of Biden’s job performance, while 53% disapprove. Ten percent did not offer an opinion.

The Poll has a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points, and when adjusted for registered voters only, the approval rating is slightly higher at 35%.

Biden’s slip in approval comes as inflation has risen to a nearly 40-year high, and COVID-19 cases have showed no sign of slowing. The COVID cases were on the decline last summer but have spiked to an all-time high amid the rise of the highly contagious omicron variant.

Biden campaigned on the premise of getting the pandemic under control and reviving the economy, both of which are suffering nearly one year into his term in office.

The Poll also found wavering support among Biden’s Democratic party. The Poll shows 75% of Democrats approving of Biden’s job performance and 14% of Democrats disapproving.

As per the politically independent, 57%, said they disapprove of Biden’s job performance, while just 25% said they approve.

Biden shows almost no support from Republicans, with 95% saying they disapprove of his job and 2% approving.

Biden’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic had been his top polling strength for most of his presidency. However, the new Poll found his support in this area has dropped. Only 39% of Americans say they approve of Biden’s response to the coronavirus, contrasted with 55% who disapprove.

The majority of those polled gave Biden a failing grade on the economy. Only 34% of poll respondents said they approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, while 57% said they disapprove of his economic leadership

Quinnipiac found Biden’s approval rating at 36% among all American adults and 38% among registered voters in November. The Real Clear Politics average of polls thus far shows 42% of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance and 53% disapprove.

The president faired well in polling for his first six months in office. However, Biden’s job approval dipped below 50% in several polls for the first time in August. The drop coincided with his administration’s chaotic withdrawal in Afghanistan and the rise of the delta COVID-19 variant.

I believe they lie and things are worse than they admit. I hope this swarm of bees they have stirred up is going to “circle back” on them. I pray daily for it.

It saddens me that 33% still approve. This show how bad the tribalism truly is.
