The Biden campaign has joined Truth Social, the platform launched by former President Donald Trump after he was censored across all of the mainstream social media platforms.
The only account that the Biden campaign is currently following is the one belonging to Donald Trump himself.
The campaign page features an image of President Joe Biden as “Dark Brandon,” a meme born from the right-wing slogan, “Let’s Go Brandon” and based on “Dark MAGA,” a meme about Trump supporters going more extreme, signified by red laser eyes.
For their first post, the campaign wrote, “Well. Let’s see how this goes. Converts welcome!”
For their second post, the campaign tweeted a video of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis saying, “[Donald Trump] owes it to you to defend his record where they added 7.8 trillion to the debt. That set the stage for the inflation that we have now.”
In the hour since launching, the campaign has also posted videos of neoconservative Republican candidate Nikki Haley criticizing Trump, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld praising a Biden speech, Jake Tapper discussing the state of the national debt under Trump, Haley praising Biden, and Tim Scott critizing Trump’s decision to run again in 2024.
“A thing about campaigns is sometimes you just do things for the lolz,” Rob Flaherty, a deputy Biden campaign manager, wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, about the decision to join Truth Social.

“There’s very little ‘truth’ happening on TruthSocial, but at least now it’ll be a little fun,” a senior Biden campaign aide told Fox News on Monday.
“We will be leveraging the fact that Republicans can sometimes be our best messengers!”
The aide added that they are “going into the lion’s den to point out Republicans’ hypocrisy and have a little fun at their own expense.”
Truth Social told Fox News that it is a “free, open platform” and “welcomes anyone around the world to join.”
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told the network, “Crooked Joe Biden and his team are finally acknowledging that Truth Social is hot as a pistol and the only place where real news happens.”
Cheung added, “Unfortunately for Biden, his continuation of spreading misinformation to gaslight the American people in order to distract from his disastrous record won’t work and they’ll be ratioed to oblivion.”
Trump had not responded to the campaign on the platform at time of publishing.
