Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced he would bring a “new version” of Tucker Carlson Tonight to Twitter.
Carlson revealed the news in a Tuesday video posted to the platform.
The former Fox News host introduced the video by detailing how media can be manipulated to be factually correct despite being intentionally falsely framed.
“The news you consume is a lie,” Carlson said. “A lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind.”
“Facts have been withheld on purpose along with proportion and perspective,” he continued. “You are being manipulated.”

Carlson provided an example in which a news story asserts a man has been “unjustly arrested for armed robbery.”
“That is not, strictly speaking, a lie,” he said. “He may have been framed. At this point there has been no trial so no one can really say.”
The former Fox News host revealed the man in the example had previously been arrested for armed robbery six times prior, noting the absence of the man’s criminal history misleads viewers into believing a false narrative.
“That’s what the news media are doing in every story that matters, every day of the week, every week of the year,” he said.
Carlson continued by saying those in the news business will be fired for bumping against limits of telling the “fullest truth.”
“Every person who works in English language media understands that,” Carlson said. “The rule of what you can’t say defines everything.”
“You can’t have a free society if people aren’t allowed to say what they think is true,” he added. “Speech is the fundamental prerequisite for democracy.”
Carlson referred to Twitter as the only platform that allows free speech, noting national conversations incubate and develop on the platform. The former Fox News host also asserted that although Twitter was not a partisan site, legacy media gatekeepers maintained control of the narrative on the platform.
“We think that’s a bad system,” Carlson said. “We know exactly how it works, and we’re sick of it.”
Carlson announced he would bring a “new version” of Tucker Carlson Tonight, which originally premiered on Fox News in 2016, to Twitter.
“Free speech is the main right that you have,” he concluded. “Without it you have no others.”
On April 24, Fox News abruptly announced the outlet and Carlson had “agreed to part ways.”
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” reads Fox News’ statement revealing Carlson’s departure.
Carlson’s final broadcast with Fox News was Friday April 21.
