Gays Against Groomers Releases Travel Advisory For Predators, Groomers

'The State Government Has Made It Clear That Sexualized Events Marketed For And Featuring Children Will Not Be Tolerated'

Gays Against Groomers, an organization that opposes the sexualization of children, released a travel warning advising “predators” and “groomers” to avoid Florida.

The advisory warns of risks posed to health, safety and freedom for those seeking to travel or relocate to the Sunshine State.

Gays Against Groomers’ travel advisory appears to be in response to a Florida travel advisory issued by LGBTQ group Equality Florida earlier this month.

“Today, Gays Against Groomers took the extraordinary step of issuing a travel advisory, warning of the risks posed to the health, safety, and freedom of predators and groomers looking to travel or relocate to Florida,” wrote the organization.

“The advisory comes in response to several new bills that have been passed to allow the death penalty for child abusers, the expansion of parental rights in education and the broadening awareness of how children are being targeted,” read the travel advisory. “The state government has made it clear that sexualized events marketed for and featuring children will not be tolerated.”

“Many reports are circulating that these moves have already had the desired effect of pushing predatory people that are indoctrinating kids to consider relocating away from Florida,” the advisory continued. “This should show anyone that thinks they can get away with these grotesque behaviors in relation to children will have a rude awakening in Florida.”

On Apr. 11, Equality Florida released a travel advisory warning of risks posed to health, safety, and freedom for those seeking to travel or relocate to Florida citing “passage of laws that are hostile to the LGBTQ community, restrict access to reproductive health care, repeal gun safety laws, foment racial prejudice, and attack public education by banning books and censoring curriculum.”

“While losing conferences, and top students who have written off Florida threatens lasting damage to our state, it is most heartbreaking to hear from parents who are selling their homes and moving because school censorship, book bans and health care restrictions have made their home state less safe for their children,” said Nadine Smith, Equality Florida Executive Director.

We understand everyone must weigh the risks and decide what is best for their safety, but whether you stay away, leave or remain we ask that you join us in countering these relentless attacks.  Help reimagine and build a Florida that is truly safe for and open to all, and where freedom is a reality, not a hollow campaign slogan.

Equality Florida’s travel advisory is in response to legislation signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as well as recent efforts to ban children from adult live performances. Florida Senate Bill 1438, which passed last week, empowers the state to revoke food and beverage licenses of businesses that admint children into adult performances.
